School Psychology Intern- Anticipated 

2026-27 School Year 

Full-time, One-year only

Compensation: Currently unpaid, but pending budget approval this could be a stipend position 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

The intern candidate must be enrolled in a School Psychology graduate program pursuing a Master’s or Educational Specialist in School Psychology. Previous work in education and/or mental-health-related fields is a plus. 

 

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

-Maine Department of Education CHRC (Criminal History Record Check)

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The School Psychology Intern reports directly to a district School Psychologist. The individual will provide a full range of school psychological services within the district, including the following: 

-Consultation with parents, teachers, other school personnel to enhance the learning of students across multiple tiers of service delivery and support 

-Serve as a member of individualized education program (IEP) and Section 504 teams 

-Complete evaluations and assist teams with eligibility determinations 

-Collaborate with teams to develop appropriate educational programming and accommodations 

-Participate in and lead professional development activities 

-Participate in counseling skills (individual and group interventions for social, emotional or behavioral concerns)

-Participate in crisis prevention activities, with supervision
