MSAD #17 (Oxford Hills School District) is looking for a excellent candidate for their Payroll Specialist position. Candidates with an Associate's degree or experience in payroll or related field will be considered. Knowledge and experience with the Maine State Retirement System is also preferred.
Terms of Employment
Year Round 260 day position - Hourly rate from $26.17 - $30.00 per hour dependent on experience; position is under the Oxford Hills Educational Association Central Office Staff Agreement which can be viewed here.

- Associates Degree or Equivalent
- Good understanding of fringe benefits

REPORTS TO: Business Office Manager
JOB PURPOSE: To contribute to staff morale by the prompt and accurate handling of all payroll matters.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support necessary to achieve district goals.
- Receives and computes all payrolls, making deductions for income tax, retirement, annuities, medical and dental insurance, and the like.
- Prepares reports and checks for proper agencies covering all deductions including 941s and Maine State Retirement contribution reports.
- Prepares and distributes payroll checks.
- Maintains records covering all deductions.
- Maintains insurance records (medical, group life, annuities) and prepares related reports.
- Prepares all tax forms relating to payroll matters.
- Verifies all amounts before and after payrolls are processed.
- Maintains unemployment information and prepares related reports.
- Maintains worker’s comp information and prepares related reports.
- Prepares State and Federal census forms.
- Prepares W-2 forms.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Business Office Manager or Director of Finance.
